FAQs ABOUT
YOUR BOUQUET FLOWERS |
By
Christine
What is the best way to find my ideal bouquet and how do I successfully share that vision with you?
You can look at images gathered from trendy magazines and bring the images with you to your consultation. You can also visit the
whimsical wéy website, where you can find picture galleries full of ideas. Sometimes we get several pictures from a bride that have aspects of her perfect bouquet (color, shape, flower). To fulfill a unique design, sometimes we can create the actual bouquet to be used as our booth décor for a bridal show and you can come to see and feel the real thing.
What flowers last the longest? Our goal is to make all of our floral arrangements yield a maximum vase life for you and your guests. Long lasting flowers (vase life of 10+ days), are alstroemeria, amaryllis lilies, fancy carnations, crocosmia, mums, lisianthus, nerine lilies, sweetheart roses, star of Bethlehem, snapdragrons, and most tropical flowers; orchids, proteas, heliconias, and anthuriums.
What color flowers should be avoided?
Avoid any flower that is not a natural color. Tinted flowers are not recommended because they are likely to ruin fabric, especially light colored linen. We recommend natural floral colors that complement your bridal theme color, your venue or the season.
What do you typically try to incorporate into the design of a bouquet? We often take inspiration from a bride’s dress design or her jewelry. We also add special touches like bouquet jewelry or a fabric that complements your style, providing an immense impact on the overall presentation.

We often offer surprises with complimentary décor for various areas in your venue so there will not be any empty spots on your canvas. Our work and dedication speaks for itself.
Whimsical wéy isn't just another florist, we are floral artists that you can trust... we will create magic for you.

WHEN DO I NEED MY FLORIST |
| A good rule of thumb is to
finalize your florist at least
3 months in advance.
However,
6 months to 1 year
is not too soon to contact your florist, especially if your wedding is going to be an elaborate event, take place during
a peak season or fall on a holiday.

MAKE YOUR FLOWERS LOOK GORGEOUS IN PHOTOS |
By
Sandra Johnson Photography
use real flowers – no silk can match up to the colors in real flowers and you can tell in the photographs.
tilt your bouquet towards the camera – you can see more flowers and your bouquet will look bigger.
don’t try to do-it-yourself. I have seen too many brides frantically trying to put together a bouquet that they thought would be easy. You have enough to do on the wedding day – leave your flowers to a professional and save the do-it-yourself projects for stuff that is completed before the wedding day.
Flowers always dress up formal photographs – give your mothers a bouquet to carry, too. It will make their day and it will make your photographs look even better.
Be sure to take your bouquet back from your maid of honor before walking back down the aisle – you will want to see it in your exit photographs.

BOUQUET STYLES |
Nosegay: A round cluster of flowers. This is a traditional and all purpose style.
Cascade: The flowers cascade downward from the central section of the bouquet. This is more formal and often a central feature to the bride's dress.
Hand-tied: The stems of the flowers are wrapped securely with ribbon, a less formal style.
Contemporary: Unconventional and asymmetrical.
Pomander: A bloom-covered ball suspended from a ribbon, perfect for child attendants.
Fan: A small bouquet or cluster of flowers attached to an elaborate fan.

SAVE HEADACHES - ASSIGN A COORDINATOR |

Make your day go smoother... On the day of the wedding, the last thing the bride needs is for vendors (caterer, florist, videographer, etc.) to be asking questions and the bridal party is often busy helping the bride. So if you don't already have a coordinator, assign one.
Identify someone to be your vendor's GO TO person on the special day: Maid-of-Honor, Mom, friend or relative. Someone who knows when the cake is suppose to arrive, where the tent goes, or who the caterer is, etc...
and remember ...
... During your final consultations, identify this person to your vendors. |

WEDDING SHOW TIPS |
TIP: SAVE TIME ::
AVOID WRITER'S CRAMP
There can be so many vendors and registration forms to
fill out, so come prepared with preprinted labels! Print
out your wedding details on computer printer labels and
then just stick it on the vendor registration form!
At
least include: your name, event date, contact phone
and/or email. |

BE CREATIVE |
Flowers can be used in many different
and creative ways... here are just a few suggestions:
Welcome gifts for out-of-town guests and members of the bridal parties.
Thank you gifts for those people who make the
bride and groom's day special.
Rehearsal dinner, wedding brunch
and bridal shower décor.
Decorations for the wedding transportation.
Floating arrangements for ponds or pools.
Accessories for the bride's hair, in some cases replacing the more traditional veil.
Have the "throw-away" bouquet double as a
cake top
